Generatore di PIN sicuro

Genera codici PIN numerici casuali con una regola opzionale di nessuna cifra ripetuta.

What the PIN generator is for

This tool creates random numeric PIN codes — strings made only of the digits 0 through 9 — in whatever length you need, from 3 up to 12 digits, and it can produce a whole batch at once. You reach for it whenever something asks for a numbers-only code and you do not want to fall back on the tired, guessable choices people default to: a phone or tablet unlock PIN, a SIM card code, a door-entry or alarm keypad, a bank card PIN, a temporary access or verification code you hand out, or a gate code for deliveries. Choosing a code by hand almost always leaks a pattern; letting a generator pick removes that human predictability entirely.

Why a random PIN beats one you invent

The whole security of a short PIN rests on it being hard to guess, and human-chosen PINs are famously easy. A four-digit PIN has only 10⁴ = 10,000 possible combinations, yet a huge share of real-world PINs cluster on a tiny handful: 1234, 0000, 1111, birth years, repeated pairs, and simple keypad shapes. An attacker who tries the twenty most common codes first cracks a large fraction of hand-picked PINs before the account even locks. A generated PIN spreads you evenly across the whole space, so no obvious pattern helps a guesser. Length compounds this quickly: every extra digit multiplies the possibilities by ten, so a six-digit PIN has 1,000,000 combinations and an eight-digit one has a hundred million — pick the longest your device or service allows.

How the codes are generated

The digits are not drawn from Math.random(). Each one comes from the browser’s cryptographic generator, crypto.getRandomValues(), and is fitted to the range 0–9 using rejection sampling so that no digit is even slightly more likely than another. The optional “no repeated digits” rule works differently: instead of picking each digit independently, it shuffles the ten digits 0–9 with a Fisher–Yates shuffle and takes the first few, guaranteeing every digit in the code is distinct.

  • Because there are only ten distinct digits, a no-repeat PIN can be at most 10 digits long — the tool warns you if you ask for more.
  • No-repeat codes look tidy and avoid runs like 7777, but forbidding repeats slightly shrinks the number of possible codes, so for maximum unpredictability at a given length a fully random PIN (repeats allowed) is marginally stronger.
  • Generating a batch is handy for issuing one-time codes to a list of people, each on its own line, ready to copy.

Know the limits of numeric codes

A numeric PIN is deliberately low-entropy compared with a full password — ten symbols per position instead of seventy or more — so it belongs in places that add their own protection, such as a phone that wipes or locks after a few wrong tries, or a keypad an attacker cannot brute-force at machine speed. For anything guarding an online account or a secret that faces unlimited guessing, a short numeric PIN is not enough on its own; reach for a longer alphanumeric secret from our password generator instead, and keep the PIN for the device layer.

Nothing leaves your device

This generator runs entirely in your browser with client-side JavaScript. The PINs are created locally on your own machine and are never transmitted, saved, or logged anywhere — which is exactly what you want from a tool that mints access codes. No server ever sees the code that will unlock your phone or your front door, so there is no remote copy to leak. Once you close or refresh the page, the generated codes are gone for good; copy the one you need before you navigate away.
