Why WireGuard, in plain terms

A WireGuard VPN is a modern, encrypted tunnel built on a small, auditable codebase and current cryptography. In practice that means three things you actually feel: connections come up almost instantly, the tunnel survives switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and battery drain on phones is far lower than with legacy protocols. s4m runs WireGuard by default and keeps OpenVPN available for devices that still need it.

Because the protocol is lean, there is less to misconfigure and less attack surface. Your keys are generated for your account and stay yours; we run no-logs by design on RAM-first nodes, so there is no browsing history sitting on a disk to hand over. If you want a fixed address for allowlists or services that check your IP, add a dedicated personal IP and bind it to the tunnel.

Who it's for

Who uses s4m VPN

Privacy-first individuals

Encrypt every app on your device on untrusted Wi-Fi, and keep your home IP off the sites and services you use.

Developers & operators

Put your laptop and servers behind one exit so your origin IP never appears in logs, webhooks or error reports.

Anyone needing a stable IP

Add a dedicated personal IP for services that allowlist by address or reject shared VPN ranges.

WireGuard or OpenVPN: which should you pick?

s4m offers both, so you're not locked in. For almost everyone, WireGuard is the better default: it connects faster, reconnects cleanly after a network change, and is easier on battery. OpenVPN still earns its place where you need maximum compatibility — older routers, corporate setups, or clients that don't speak WireGuard yet.

VPN FAQ

Which protocol does s4m VPN use?

WireGuard by default (the modern industry standard for security). OpenVPN is available for legacy compatibility.

Do you throttle or cap usage?

Paid VPN plans are flat-rate. Plans start at $49/mo, billed monthly — move up any time.

How many devices can I connect?

Depends on your plan — up to 10 on VPN Plus.

Is there a kill switch?

Yes. Paid VPN plans include a kill switch that blocks traffic if the tunnel drops, plus split-tunnel so you can route only the apps you choose. Both are toggles in the app.

Where does my traffic exit?

s4m has selectable public exit configurations. Use the endpoint or profile issued for the protocol and location selected in your account. GeoIP results vary between databases and over time. Verify the actual exit and required country before use; a location label does not guarantee destination acceptance. A dedicated IP is exclusive during its assignment under the service terms. Prior history, assignment duration, availability and supported bindings still matter. Related topics: private server.

Can I add a dedicated IP to the VPN?

Yes, where the issued VPN configuration supports it. A dedicated IP can provide a consistent exit for allowlists. It does not guarantee anonymity; an account without email is a separate option.
