Proxies for Market Research

Gather public web data at scale from a neutral IP instead of your own network. s4m datacenter proxies give researchers clean, authenticated access, and metered billing — honestly datacenter, not residential.

Why researchers route through a clean proxy IP

Market research lives or dies on representative data. When you scrape search results, pricing pages, or catalog listings from your office network, the responses are shaped by your location, login state, and browsing history — personalization that quietly skews what you collect. Routing requests through an s4m proxy replaces your origin IP with a neutral gateway, so the data you gather reflects a clean session rather than your own footprint.

Our paid proxies are authenticated SOCKS5 and HTTP datacenter endpoints, billed pay-as-you-go by traffic. They are stable and predictable, which matters when you are pulling thousands of public pages on a schedule. Because s4m is no-logs by design and RAM-first, your request metadata is not retained.

  • Hide your real / origin IP behind a stable gateway
  • Reduce personalization and geo-skew in public results
  • Pay only for the data you use — no seat licenses
  • Optional dedicated personal IP when you need one consistent address

For a full protocol and pricing breakdown see the proxy overview and pricing. If your work needs an always-on encrypted tunnel instead of per-request routing, the WireGuard VPN covers whole-device traffic. Curious about free options? The public proxy list is fine for throwaway checks, but read the honesty note below before you rely on it for research.

What datacenter proxies handle well

s4m proxies are built for high-volume collection of publicly available web data.

Public data at scale

Pull listings, prices, availability, and SERP snapshots from a neutral IP so results are not tuned to your own account or location.

Reliability

Datacenter infrastructure means low latency and stable connections — a real advantage when jobs run on a schedule across many pages.

Authenticated access

Every request goes through USER:PASS auth on SOCKS5 (1080) or HTTP (3128). No open relays, no shared credentials.

Metered billing

Pay-as-you-go by traffic, not per seat. Admin-tunable usage limits keep costs and rates under control per account or per IP.

Dedicated IP option

Add a static personal IP — associated with your s4m account — when a target needs to see one consistent address every run.

Datacenter, not residential — and why that's fine for most research

Be clear-eyed about what you are buying. s4m sells datacenter proxies, not residential ones. The IP ranges are registered to hosting infrastructure, which some sites can detect. For the majority of public, aggregate research — market sizing, price monitoring, catalog and availability tracking — that is a non-issue and the cost is a genuine benefit.

If a specific target aggressively blocks hosting IPs, no datacenter provider — us included — can promise access. Always respect each site's Terms of Service and robots directives, throttle your requests, and collect only data that is publicly available. Collecting public data through s4m proxies

python
# s4m datacenter proxy - authenticated HTTP + SOCKS5
# Use the placeholder host; never hardcode a real IP.
# SOCKS5 needs:  pip install requests[socks]
import requests

USER, PASSWORD = "USER", "PASS"
HTTP  = f"http://{USER}:{PASSWORD}@proxy.s4m.online:3128"
SOCKS = f"socks5://{USER}:{PASSWORD}@proxy.s4m.online:1080"

proxies = {"http": HTTP, "https": HTTP} # or swap in SOCKS

# Fetch a public page from a clean IP
r = requests.get(
    "https://example.com/products",
    proxies=proxies,
    timeout=20,
)
print(r.status_code, len(r.text))

# Confirm the exit IP your target actually sees
who = requests.get("https://api.ipify.org", proxies=proxies, timeout=20)
print("origin IP hidden, exit IP:", who.text)

# Quick one-off check from the shell:
# curl -x http://USER:[email protected]:3128 https://example.com
FAQ

Questions, answered

Are these residential proxies?

No. s4m offers authenticated datacenter SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies. They are fast and cost-effective for public data collection, but the IPs are registered to hosting infrastructure, so we never market them as residential.

How am I billed for research traffic?

Paid proxies are metered, pay-as-you-go by the usage you use — no per-seat licensing. Admin-tunable limits let you cap rates per account type, per IP, or per account.

Can I get a consistent IP or many locations?

For a stable address, add a dedicated personal IP that stays the same across runs. If you want to spot-check many countries, the separate free public proxy list is third-party and continuously validated — filter by country, protocol, and anonymity, but use it at your own risk.

Is web scraping for market research allowed?

We don't provide legal advice. Collect only publicly available data, honor each site's Terms of Service and robots directives, and throttle your requests. You are responsible for how you use the connection.

Do you log my requests?

s4m is no-logs by design and RAM-first, so request metadata is not retained. Check current plan terms and account options on the pricing page.

Start collecting from a clean IP

Spin up authenticated datacenter proxies with pay-as-you-go billing, or add a dedicated personal IP for a consistent address. Anonymous accounts available.
