Static Proxy
A static proxy keeps your traffic on a single fixed exit IP that does not change between requests or sessions.
What it is
A static proxy holds you on one unchanging exit IP. Every request leaves from the same address, which is exactly what you want when a destination ties state or trust to your IP. It is the opposite of a rotating proxy. A fixed address can support a sticky session and a destination IP allowlist. The destination’s access policy is separate from proxy credentials; a stable address does not automatically remove authentication.
How it works
Because the address never changes, the destination sees one continuous visitor, which is essential for logins, shopping carts and account actions where a mid-flow IP change would break the session or raise a fraud flag. A static IP you keep well-behaved also accrues good reputation. The trade-off is that all your traffic concentrates on one address, so it is unsuitable for high-volume scraping that would trip per-IP rate limits — that work wants rotation instead.
How it relates to s4m
A dedicated IP is exclusive during its assignment under the service terms. Prior history, assignment duration, availability and supported bindings still matter. An exit IP can have a prior history. Accounts, cookies and browser signals may still identify a user; changing an address does not guarantee a clean reputation. An outbound exit address does not by itself open inbound ports to your device. That requires separate supported routing and firewall configuration. Questions, answered
What is a static proxy best for?
A static proxy suits anything that expects one consistent visitor: logging in, holding a cart, account management, and IP whitelisting where a service must approve your fixed address. It also lets a clean IP build good reputation. It is poor for high-volume scraping that needs many IPs.
